Why should our young people learn more about food and sustainability?
How can we help young people connect with where our food comes from? What role does education have in helping them understand the effect our food production systems can have on the environment? What opportunities do students have to explore issues around socially responsible food growing?
These are some of the questions raised by parent and allotment gardener, Jané, in this short film on the future of education.
Jané’s film is part of a series commissioned by The Harmony Project from filmmaker Jason Taylor at The Source Image. This collection of short films explores what parents, teachers and students have to say about how education can best equip our young people to engage with issues of sustainability. By making their voices heard, The Harmony Project hopes to move forward the conversation about the role education should play in preparing students today to lead on the environmental issues they will face tomorrow.
